1. The compulsory third-party car liability insurance offers protection against potential prejudices caused by the insured to third parties through car accidents in the territory of the Republic of Moldova, more exactly:
2. The RCA insurance contract is regulated by the following normative acts: - Law no. 407 of 21.12.2016 on insurance; - Law no. 414 of 22.12.2006 on the compulsory insurance of civil liability for damage caused by motor vehicles; - Civil Code of the Republic of Moldova art.1301-1330.
3. Compulsory civil liability insurance (AORCA) is intended to protect the economic and social interest of the entire community and to protect victims of accidents. Thus, the lack of RCA is punished according to the RMC.
4. The conclusion of the contract is mandatory not only for motor vehicle owners, but also for insurers. The insurer's refusal to issue an insurance policy or to conclude the compulsory insurance contract at the request of the vehicle owner constitutes a violation of consumer rights and is sanctioned in accordance with the law.
5. Coverage - the RCA insurance policy is valid throughout the Republic of Moldova.
6. The RCA insurance contract is issued for a period of 12 months. Exceptions are made only to insurance contracts concluded for vehicles registered abroad, which do not hold a Green Card, in which case the contract can be concluded for a minimum of 15 days, maximum of 12 months. At the same time, RCA insurance contracts concluded for agricultural or seasonal equipment may be shorter than 12 months.
7. For conclusion of an insurance agreement shall be presented following documents
– details of the legal entity-owner of the vehicle
– Vehicle registration certificate
– If needed – other documents attesting the right to possess this motor vehicle (power of attorney, rent agreement, leasing agreement, etc.)
